As a self-professed overachiever, I am driven by a distinctively competitive nature. Once you get to know me, you discover that my success is mostly a result of who I view as the competition - MYSELF!

Setting and achieving goals has always been a part of my nature.  In fact, it's how I came to my successful career in real estate.  With two young children to support, I set out to use my knowledge and skills attained as a legal secretary for a real estate attorney to work for myself as a REALTOR®.

Undaunted by many obstacles, my goal became a reality in 1976 when I became one of the youngest REALTORS® in Virginia.  I've been a part of the real estate community ever since. 

I have lived here all my life.  I am an accomplished equestrian and trainer, my competitive passion and love of horses has earned me numerous national awards.  But more importantly, being involved with my horses gives me the opportunity to unwind from my professional life and spend time with my husband, Larry and our children.

Never content to rely on past accomplishments, I set my sights on owning my own real estate firm.  In 1986, I realized that goal with my partner, Donald Parr.  And with Parr & Abernathy Realty, I have set the goal to be the absolute best real estate agency in the Tri-City area.  I am determined to achieve that, and feel that we are.

Dawn Jones has been a member of the Parr & Abernathy Realty, Inc. family since October 2005. She came to us with a background in property, auto and health insurance. Dawn is a 1999 graduate of Prince George High School. She has been a licensed real estate agent as well as a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Virginia Association of REALTORS® and Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® since 2006. Dawn works in the property management division of our agency and serves as the Assistant Property Manager. She specializes in and is primarily responsible for performing the move in and move out inspections, property maintenance and care, and processing rental applications. 

Dawn is currently serving as the 2011 Chairman of the Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® Property Management Council. Dawn always strives to stay on top of the most current laws and regulations pertaining to landlord and tenant relationships. In 2010, Dawn obtained her EPA Lead Safe Certification and is now a Lead Certified Renovator. Every two years, Dawn makes sure to renew her Fair Housing Certification. Her goal has always been to offer only the best services possible to both property owners, contractors and our residents.    Dawn has been recognized every year by SVAR since 2007 for her dedication and expertise to the industry.  Dawn is also a member of the Virginia Building and Code Officials Association. 

Dawn is a resident of Prince George County where she and her husband Rodney are raising their two beautiful girls, Jaci and Kortney. She has volunteered with the Prince George County Fire & EMS as a fire fighter, volunteered with the local Red Cross and is a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge. When Dawn is not at the office or doing her duties as a homemaker, she enjoys spending time with her family, being at the beach, outside, riding on the boat and most of all fishing.

 Shanna Wiseman has been the Property Manager at Parr & Abernathy Realty, Inc. since May 2000. She is a 1996 graduate of Hopewell High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Politics from George Mason University in 2000. She has been licensed sales agent since 1998 and a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Virginia Association of REALTORS® and The Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® since 2000. Shanna is responsible for overseeing, monitoring and ensuring that the daily tasks of business are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner.
